another day another large cent

Stopped on my way home from work at a field where there was a tavern in the early 1800's. This field has given up draped bust large cents and Spanish silver before but there is a lot of junk too. well after about 2 hours the total is 1 1820 large cent and 3 buttons (one is pewter).

Nice job on the Large Cent.

How large is the area you are pulling the stuff from - 1/2 acre, 1 acre? The 1800's tavern/stagecoach stop that we hunted a couple weeks ago we thought we were hunting the tavern site but it really was the stagecoach stop. We think we know where the tavern is now. Trouble is it's woods not a field.

great find.up here in northern NY i found many large cents through the years but living across from Canada they were mostly Canadian and British.
