Another button ID

Until I clearned this button, I thought it was just another colonial era button. However, this somewhat silvery looking color, I have not seen before. Can someone rely me it it is old or something newer.

Looks like a Tombac Button.

It's possible that it was silver plated.

Hi guys. Tnx for your responses. I had never heard of tombac, so it's great to learn something new. Looking at other pictures, I have to agree that it is a tombac button. I guess they could be plated. There is a dark area on the front that made me wonder if it was corrosion or if a plating was worn off.
