hey went to a spot that needed to be worked over and found my second sac that put my clad total to over 6 bucks for the day ton of trash 2 junk rings a silver sandal pendant (2nd one) and a gold ring with 9 stones(cz/diamond chips?)size 7 marked 585 ok heres the 400 dollar question does that? make it 10,14 or 18 k if 1.000 is 24 k .585 is ? 14k?any help or a break down in the numbers for gold marks etc would be very cool seen it on here be for but have no clue were?!got the skinny from my chicks sister on the diamond quality break down broke out the microscopefor a look see! dekalb33

Maybe you guys already know this but some may not. I just found out a few weeks ago.

24K = 100% pure gold the other Kt ratings are a fraction of that
Examples:
10k = 10/24 or 41.666% pure gold
14K = 14/24 or 5.8333% Pure gold
18k = 18/24 or 75% Pure gold

So, if you want to know the amount of pure gold you have you simply weigh the item, then divide the weight by 24 and multiply by the Kt weight.
