Went back at it this week doing some simple research and hitting a few spots every day I had off from work, tried to keep it to smaller lots in tighter grounds and it paid off. Headed out to a few foreclosed homes that I was granted permission by the banks that took over ownership and focused on houses built between 1900-1930, figures these would be best to up my silver coins count this year since it’s been a bit slow, up until 3 weeks ago I hadn’t found silver in a few months but it all turned around and it’s been hot finding silver on every hunt for past month. Great assortment of finds from this weeks hunts, from relics to silver to wheaties and your typical trash mostly lead and brass which adds to the gas money scrap bin and nice lead for my fishing weight molds :icon_thumleft:. Some of the best finds include silver Washington Quarter semi-key date/mint, silver dime, Unknown silver object possible compact case for markup or locket, chunky silver ring, and a few wheat pennies. All together about a half oz in silver, 3 lbs of brass/copper, 2 lbs of lead and 4-5.00 clad. Very happy so far although I was skunked this morning but plan on doing some night hunting tonight so who knows if the silver will find me again. Thanks for looking and happy hunting folks! Wow great haul!! I never thought about checking foreclosed properties. That’s a great idea I’m going to start looking around here. You must me a genius!! Take care

I’ve been doing that for a while Rudy, it’s easier to just do wide searches and contact agents, I also found that stopping at any houses or lots where people are working and the home is for sale but not resided in the guys seem to be pretty cool and don’t mind as long as your not in the way, I’ll usually do that and if I’m granted permission I’ll take a name and company and make a mental note or write it down and just go back after construction hours usually guys are off the site around 3-4pm and don’t work weekends, always document something Incase the police decide to check you out, remember always be respectful and introduce yourself to neighbors if they are outside doesn’t hurt to strike conversation it may lead to other permissions.
