Believe it's a military button or rivet, or whatever you want to call it, and is Korean War era.

I really don't know anything about them but always thought they were from WWII. I could be wrong about that though.

Suit, One-Piece, Jungle
This one-piece, camouflaged uniform is especially developed to give maximum protection against insects and thorns while permitting the wearer to remain as cool as possible. It has 13 Star metal buttons. It is provided with internal webbing suspenders that permit the crotch of the uniform to be raised or lowered so the the weight of the cargo pockets can be carried with comfort, suspended from the shoulders. The jungle suit has large cargo pockets, with flaps held down by stout friction snaps. The camouflaged patterns, green on the outside and the tan on the inside, permit the garment to be reversed so that the troops may have a camouflaged uniform suitable for action on the beaches or sun-backed areas as well as in normal, green jungle.

Those buttons date from 1938 to the late 50's and even into the early 60's.

I have one shirt in my collection that is a tailor made shirt from Japan and was used in Vietnam in the early 60's. The shirt was made in 1958.

As an Englishman living in Sweden..even I know the 13 stars are to signify the original 13 states of the union! :P Getting 50 stars on a button is hard work i guess?.
