aside from behind an old house, something more like what State or location.....jeeez

Weighs 340lbs but I would say alot is missing from corrosion. Overall length minus the ring on the end is 90.5 inches and 48 inches from tip to tip wide

Old guy that lives there said 40 miles offshore in Gulf off Cape San Blas.

Looks like an old-plan bower anchor, 1690-1740. Looks in bad shape too. In dire need of conservation.

In the current condition worth about $200 to $300. It depends on what a sucker will pay. Try selling it to a museum.

I will just keep it anyway just curious. About to drop it in a tank and start electrolysis cleanup. You got any kind of reference I can look at on it being an "old-plan bower anchor, 1690-1740". I like printing and laminating something on all my old junk.

Done cleaning. Working on wood stock now

Short question: WHAT the heck is this ?!

Black paint ??? :laughing7:

Just kidding! Good job mate! And to preserve it with paint is much better than let it rotting away!
