Detector(s) used
Minelab E-Trac w/sunray probe, Excelerator EQ2 coil
I could get used to this. Same place same result. Ive been hunting this fairground for several years, and on twice now have i ever found four silver in the same day, today and last week. I cant beleive there is still silver at this place. Just like last time none of them were clean smoth signals all were iffy. And two of them were "thumpers", the other two were only chirps, but they repeated. Also dug a few wheats and a Good luck token....I am really starting to like this E-trac, it really can sift though trash. This place that i hunt used to have a wooden grandstand there, so there are literally thousands of nails all over. The area is about 20' x 50' , so not very big. The threshold nulls out the entire time, and you get constant chirps from iron falsing, but every so often you get one that repeats, and those are either wheats, or silvers... I have dug probably 50 coins from this spot. Last spring a group of us hunted this exact same spot, and pulled an 1877 seated and a 1953 rosie. We hunted it until there were no repeatable signals. I started hunting it again this winter and have pulled 8 silver coins and about 30 wheat pennies. I havnt even thought about trying for nickels, Ive pulled several buffalos and V's from this spot. I have been hunting in Quick Mask so i cant hear low tones, (nothing below 32 on the Conductive) so im sure im leaving behind nickes that are worth pulling. Someday ill hunt it and look for nickels, but for now i keep finding silvers and wheats so im content... This gives me 19 silvers for the year, all dimes..

Nice coins!! :headbang:

I am in the process of getting an E-TRAC also from Mike at Woodland Detectors. I hear nothing but good about it. Can't wait!

They can be overwhelming at first especially if you are used to a Whites..They are noisy, but it doesnt take long to pick up on the tones. If you have any questions when you get yours dont hesitate to send me a message, I used to have a DFX and i find the E-trac easier to use than the Whites, less tuning at each site.

NICE!

If you were in the woods I would suggest what we did in many areas at the Iceberg, I just start chopping and loosening up the dirt in an area where I get no coin signals but lots of iron/noise/nulls. And then kinda rake it out and search it. There'd usually be multiple coins in the piles of dirt that we'd loosen that we would've never found otherwise!

I wish i could, its a Fairgrounds that is still in use....

Great job Dave. But how are you getting though the frozen ground. ;D

Nice silver take.

I have a property I'm working now that does the same thing, there are large sections where my Explorer is nulling, but the machine still picks up a good target through the mess every now and again

Finding a single silver in a single hunt is great, but finding four in one hunt is fantastic! Nice job! :hello2:
