... and more teasing by the silver gods!!

First box yielded 2 40%, and the second box gave up 2 more 40% and a 1957 Franklin which certainly surprised me.

Since Early to Mid December I have been getting boxes that have ALL been dated October 23, 2006. I've searched 20 boxes so far this year and 6 or 9 more in December, all with that date! Prior to this all of my boxes had random dates and random box inspectors.

Anybody else getting these same dates on their boxes? Did somebody dump off $15-20,000 at one time to a bank in half dollars?

My last two boxes (from dif banks) both had Dec 19th 2006 on them.
I wonder if the inventory if last in first out, and there are really old boxes at the back just waiting to be plundered.

I think that's what we are all secretly praying for!

I do remember last year though that I got a box dated back to like 2000 one time and only found a couple of silvers in it I think.

Gee whiz Brian, what is your total count of finds to date???? You probably do more than anyone I've heard of.

My finds pale in comparison to a lot of posters on this board. No banks in my town ever have any halves for me to buy, so I have to purchase them by the box. I've searched $10,000 in halves so far this year for a total of 50 40%, 8 90% kens, 1 Franklin, and 2 Walkers.

Last year I searched just $33,541.50 in halves and got 325 40%, 84 90% kens, 56 Franklins, and 27 Walkers.

Some guys have beat my totals for the past year in just a box or two. Hopefully I can get lucky like they have been and get a big score!

None of the boxes I get are dated or Inspector marked. I get 2 a week from one bank that are marked VT for the branch, marked with magic marker. I occasionally pick up boxes from BofA and they aren't marked either.

So far all my boxes are not marked in any way. I also use BofA. Tomorrow I will get one from Wells Fargo to test their waters. But I will also pick up 2 on friday from BofA, they have been good to me. Not great, but consistantly a couple of 90%s and several 40%s.

I order my boxes from a credit union and two different banks.....and none are ever date stamped.

NICE! I had 3-4 teaser boxes at one point a month ago. But, soon after i got a spurt of silver (8-15) silvers per box.

I think it goes in patterns.

WELL I WENT THROUGH 170.00 IN HALFS AND HAD FIVE KEEPERS,WENT TO 8 BANKS,SOME DID SOME DIDN'T ABOUT HALF WERE SNOTTY AND THE OTHER HALF THEY WOULD GO OUT OF THEY WAY FOR THE CUSTOMER. MICHAEL KARR

I hear ya Brian, pretty dismal here as well. $1000 worth today, yielded 7 40%.

None of my boxes are ever marked in any way, other than Ive seen a few with a little
squiggle from a pen. Not sure if any significance.

Ive been wondering what kind of effect it would have, if another box orderer/searcher
started dumping rejects at a bank that used "your" coin service.... probably would destroy
the source. I think that is happening here. Wont get far into the supply storage, if they
accumulate more rejects weekly to ship back out to me LOL. Gonna give a few more weeks,
then change sources and see what happens.

Good luck, hopefully it turns around for us slow starters this year :)

Well, I have had a couple good boxes this year. However, I got 3 boxes in the last week and NOTHING. Ive got two boxes coming in tomorrow. I pray to the silver gods to smile on me again!

I had 2 boxes yesterday with nothing in them either :( The week before, at the same branch, 2 boxes had 99 rolls with no silver, and 1 roll with 2 40%'s. I shouldn't say nothing, I think I pulled two 2004's, but it's not the same.
All of the boxes I order are through the same bank, but at different branches. For some reason this particular branch, with by far the friendliest tellers, keeps giving me nothing. Other branches boxes have been putting up steady, if unspectacular results (avg maybe 5 keepers per box). I had a nice one last week with 1 walker, 3 64's, 1 68, and 1 silver 2000s.

Best of luck to all

Date stamps can be deceiving. I always thought "the older, the better" but it doesn't pan out like that.

The first two casino vault boxes (yellow lettering and rolls) were stamped "Dec 6, 2006" and couldn't have had more opposite results. The one I opened today was marked "Sept 29, 2006" but had just one silver. Oddly enough, they had the same inspector # too! I wonder if subsequent boxes will have older dates as I go thru them.
