Teen Boy Defends Home Against 2 Invaders

In the city of Houston a teenage son dealt with 2 intruders at his family’s home. The son of Police Officer Ken Patmon was home alone when the event started to unfold.
He had just gotten home from George Bush High School and called his dad when he started to hear pounding at the back door. Within seconds both men were inside the family’s home. One of the men started to head up the stairs towards the son. Patmon called 911 while talking with his son.

I’m talking to my son, making sure he’s good and I’m telling the dispatchers everything that’s going on so I can get some deputies out here,” he said.”He said, ‘Dad’s someone’s banging on the door.’ This is certainly not customary here,” Patmon said as Fort Bend County Sheriff’s deputies continued their investigation into the incident in the 1700 block of Manchester Point Lane.

The teen then grabbed the family pistol and fatally shot the man that had come upstairs. Patmon said his son had never used the pistol before- ever. The other intruder than left as soon as the shot was fired. The officer congratulated his son on keeping his poise and doing well under the circumstances. His son is set to join the Air Force this year.

I am upset. it turned out well, but that policeman abrogated his duty as a father, he should have actively been a part of teaching that boy to shoot!
