I found this outside of Chambersburg, PA at a co-workers house. I went into the woods where there was a ton of iron nails and chatter. Next to a stone foundation of an old house I found this. It is magnetic, and 12 1/2 inches long with some weight. I have never seen anything like this so I am clueless. Lets hear your ideas fellow detectives!!

My wife is from East Tennessee, her Uncle was still delivering produce to town using a mule and wagon during WWII. If you are in Amish country it might not be all that old, but the latest it can be is when the last use of a wagon and team took place in your area, and from there the earliest or oldest it could be is pretty much anyone's guess. Where you live, when were the first roads built and when were the first wagons used? It could date that far back. It's one of those things that have a large time spread, and if you know when the place you found it was being farmed, then you probably have a good idea of the date.
