I found these in a scrap pile and I can take more pictures if you need to they appear to be brass. there are no stamps on them period but the harps are screwed on with flat head screws and the pieces coming off the back are also flat head bolts with square nuts. I have not cleaned them because I did not know if they would be ruined by cleaning or not. This sketchy antique dealer in my area tried to tell me they are reproduction and only worth $10 which I have a hard time believing, because they were also whispering about how the screws and bolts were period. I don't know much about antiques but I do know that the flat head shows something about the date. any information to give me some sort of starting point would be great! Thanks so much!!!

the problem is I went to several dealers who all sat there whispering about this that or the other and the best offer they gave was $25 but they all really wanted them if that makes since so it really rose some flags. As soon as my husband gets back I will take some very detailed pictures. They have no identifying marks on them at all so I am unsure as to how to tell the age or anything else.

the tops are the same but instead of vines they are straight pillars and they have harps screwed onto the front and no horns of plenty.

Also do you know of any reputable dealers in the Louisville/southern Indiana area?

well, I believe you have a couple of nice pieces, yes tarnished, but the details look good, the cast is crisp, nothing mushed together into vague form...

I sure am disappointed in the dealers near you...one would think at least one of them would be honest, even if they cant afford to buy them.

The 5 that have the location, listed by a letter in caps, have a review under them. Look at those and give them a call and say how you where mistreated by the places you went. The ones there have good reviews.

hmmm not sure why they are rotated..... they show up correctly on my computer....

Those are beautiful! If you do get a HONEST expert opinion to confirm the date and value, I'd be calling the Better Business Bureau and reporting the dips***t dealers who then obviously tried to scam you! Or, any other communication means (online store/business reviews) and warn others!

Great save on those, they really are great!
