From the land of the Bluenose.....the scene unfolded and played out as it had a 100 times before. Navy Davy arrives 15 minutes early looking like a blue fin tuna chasing a school of macheral as I limp to the trunk and stowed my machine in gear in the trunk. I knew that before the end of the outing both ND and I would be stiff, moaning and groaning with our assorted aches and pains.
Tim's was had! Told Dave that we can't go digging on Wednesday as I have to have blood tests to which he retorted "Well have you studied for them yet?" Always a comeback.

We each dug in silence as the waves slapped the shore, the trees creaked as did our knees and the crows sitting up in the trees laughing at us.

Sort of inwardly lost and was thinking about Steve Zendren who just passed away. He was my first shift I/C that I worked for when I joined the security detail at the airport. Man had served his country for 34 years with 6 overseas deployments and 4 more with NATO. A loving and caring family man whose battle with cancer was to be his last.

Day was done and as predicted both of us limped to Mrs. Navy Dave's thunderbolt grease slapper with out pockets full of clad. Sure was sweet swinging the Freedom 3 Plus!

Navy Davy's horde of 53 coins.

Bluenoser's 48.

Today got me thinking hard about life in general. At the service for Steve his accomplishments were mentioned and would impress any military man.

Can imagine what my eulogy will say;
"He dug holes all his life and now we put him in one."

Well Leslie, you did dig alot of holes!! Sorry for your loss.

You should have enogh in the fund for a pint or two Leslie. Another great hunt and I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. We never know when the hunt we are on will be our last. Cancer is a terrible thing that wew need to find a cure for and soon. HH, Quindy.

Great hunt ...congrats !

Yes, sorry about your loss. That Steve I never knew, or did I ? Not S.S. ?

That does look like a spot I might have joined you guys at, but no never mind, Lots of snow here, and I never gave it a second thought. (maybe a little) Besides that had some things on the "to-do" list which I got done :hello2:. From now on though any good days I can fully enjoy, and you can rest assured that the few that remain I most certainly will.

Nice pics, a good site, and a great digging partner. Congrats on getting out and enjoying the day. Nov. 19 in cold country, could have been mucjh worse for sure. (see pic below. from this morning off my front step)

Hope you have a little blood in ya for the doc to suck out on Wed.

Oh dear what's this... ND dug 10.41% more discs of payment than the newly aquired freedom three plus. Has this machine not the same "majic" as the previous white orbes of Garrett ?? I'll bet that black bugger would have done the trick.....

Hey man only joking, who's keeping score anyway ? surely not me. As I'm often the looser in a score keeping battle. Do hope there is at least one more dig in the cards for the three amigos (I did dig up until Dec 21 last year, so there is definitely a chance.)

As always a good post.

Rick
