I found this right next to a camp site in a recreational mining area. This is why we get people turned against mining. They left this large boulder in this condition and didn't even make any attempt to fill this hole in. They even dug right up and under the trail going from the camp to the river.

The only stupid thing I see is Propping up and getting under those boulders!

They won't be miners for long doing that crap.

They should have at least knocked them down before leaving.

As for the trail thing, Gold is were Gold is.

There are other trails to be had.

Is this place Private, Paid, Public Lands?

BLM Recreational area. In this area you are required to fill in any holes and the spot they were digging in is the base of the main rd, don't get me wrong, I would have probably done the same but I would not have left it like that.

what i find silly is that,in the time to put up those eyesore tapes,the ranger could have finished his/her donut.and put the rock on the ground.must have wanted to get back to the office,do paperwork and bum donuts from the other red-tape heros.goverment employees do not seem comfortable out of doors just lately.no yum-yum outlets out there.the original forest rangers were just that.toughest bunch out there.ready to help,or kick ass.now a bunch a tape stringin,donut eatin,testifyers.(yes your honor,had to put that tape up by myself,as my partner was on emotional leave after the bird nest case).
