Well, that ole field is definitely working me hard! I've just about worked half of the entire 15 acres or so. Long lapses between targets helped to cover a lot of ground; especially useing the 18 inch coil. I got there early today and it was a good thing. I'd only hunted for a couple of hours and the owners showed up, ready to disc once more before preparing to plant. They told me I could stay as long as I kept out of the way. So, I worked the far side of the field as one gent on his tractor begin discing where I had the best luck previously. I waited for him to make a dozen passes or so and eased myself back over there. I found more junk but happened to hit something low toned. I figured another nickel but digging I saw the glint of gold. This has to be the smallest gold ring I personally have ever seen. I know it must be a child's ring. It's 14kt and looks hand made although there are markings inside the band. I also found a 1906 Indian Head. Not wanting to be in the way or over stay my welcome I loaded up and came on home waving goodbye to Mr. Gary riding his big red International tractor.

GRB I need to go hunting with you... you always do excellent.. wtg

Good Morning from Colorado!
Thanks everyone!

Mrs. BootyBay!
Come on down; that field can support at least two Metal Detectorists! :)
How's our little friend doing with the Ace 250? Have you both been able to do any radio waving?

That ring; what an odd little sound! There was a live Long Rifle twenty two round not more than two inches from it. The round was long pass the need to be concerned however. At first I thought the ring was gold plated as it was encrusted with calcium or something. A polishing pad shined her right up! I need to do a little more rubbing on the inside where the markings are. All I can read is 14 but that is good enough for me! :)

Good job!!! :icon_sunny:
That sounds like a day to keep your interest in the site going!
If you could get a good rain, to settle the ground some and add some moisture, you could probably rehunt the whole thing and go an inch or 2 deeper? :icon_scratch:
I took my F4 out again today to a tree :-) Yup, a tree. :stop:
I will make a separate post, so as not to hijack your thread. :icon_jokercolor:

Great finds GRB
An IH and a gold ring would make my day.

Hello Friends!
Thank you for the responses!

It's cloudy out today; rain's in the forecast here in Souther Colorado! I'm leaving in a little while; going to pick up the SE package I'd purchased from Captain Jack last week! UPS is holding the package for me and I am anxious to check it out. Otherwise, I'd have to wait until later this evening as I'm always the last delivery of the day!

One of the properties adjoining this field has recently been plowed also. I've knocked on their door on three separate occassions but have failed to find anyone home. Maybe today will be the day; I'll keep everyone posted! :)

Happy Day!
