these are from the now vacant site Fort Wallace, Kansas......an important post during the Indian Wars of the 1860's & 1870's. Note the whiskey flask in bottom frame. It was dug in the same hole with a beautiful Cavalry Officer's button. Took me awhile to get it out in tact. The cork was still in place. The button was at 7", the upside down flask bottom uncovered at six inches.
