I have no clue what i have or old is it. Not sure if it’s genuine or a fake, some say it’s not hammered so that it must be a replica. If it’s real maybe some kid took from his fathers collection and lost it. I’m trying to find out if it’s real and the age on it. Thanx. 7708361A-DC42-4B7C-9DBE-B6ED13754932.jpeg

A lot of ancient coins turn up in the US, possibly lost from old collections... I've heard lots of "theories" about it... cool find!

Also seen replica coins pop up on Outer Banks beaches and Coin Beach, DE. Put there, no doubt, by some jolly jokers for the sole purpose of giving a heart attack to an MD'er.

Although yours looks like it was in the ground for a while...

Thank u all so far the scale is tipped in favor of being a genuine Roman piece I’ll hace it checked at the Baltimore coin show next week. I know even if real it’s a very common Roman piece but just want to be sure of what I have.
