Looks like a fake Spanish reale. What is the weight? Is it magnetic? How big is it? Is it silver?

Yea it sure looks like a fake or one of those souvenir replica Spanish Colonial Reales. 1572 to 1734. The hole is not unusual.

Design Characteristics: Silver, hand struck cob, shield type, typically degrading in quality throughout the period, but not this degrading.

I never saw a copper one. It appears to have been jappaned black at one time which is unusual. :icon_scratch:

The first thing to do is have it tested for silver. Maybe its a period counterfeit. It looks copper colored but doesnt have any green copper patina that you would expect to see with old copper. Whatever it is its very funky.

I dont see it either but pre-1984 Hobby Protection Act replicas do not need the word copy.

Lol,i think it's a reference in the movie where vinny jones has a gun stuck in his face and..i forget exactly what happens ..but after, the guy asks how he knew the gun was fake? and vinny says "i saw where it says "replica" on the side!"

Something to that effect?
