8642. ARTUQUIDS OF MARDIN, NASIR AL-DIN ARTUQ ARSLAN?, 1201-1239 AD. AE Dirhem, Spengler/Sayles 39&45 variant? Male figure riding lion l./Legend. Good VF. While this coin is quite similar to the Spengler/Sayles types, the position of the rider's head is quite different. Also Spengler/Sayles describes the beast as a leopard while the heavy mane of a lion is clearly visible in the current example, if the same type this would cast considerable doubt on their interpretation of the symbolism. Perhaps a rare variant or a new type. Additional information appreciated. Rare?

wow I think t might be of this type or a very close variant thanks a lot ---wow 1201- 1239 AD ..that means its between 814 and 776 years old
