I'm trying to figure out the symbols. The one looks like a thunderbird but the others look like a shield or cross almost.

Would you say that it is indeed anasazi? Got it for super cheap it was 40

Nice "OLD" bowl. Try posting over on the North American Indian artifact forum. There are some pottery people there.

Wish I could say but I'm no expert. That's why I was wondering about the decoration. I've looked at thousands of photos of Native pottery over the years because I have a basic interest in pottery and the Native American culture in general. The symbols do look familiar, I just don't recall seeing them on any southwestern pottery I've ever looked at. You would expect similar design elements to be found on pieces made in the same region. So far I can't place it.

It looks like red and black slip (paint) on the inside. Is the clay grey? Is there any slip on the exterior? Can you tell if it was made using the coiled construction method?

doesnt look it to me. most of those were decorated much more but, it is probably indian
