An Unfortunate Teller & "Not So Loomis" Box of Nickels

Stopped by my bank today--a different branch from my usual pickup spot--and asked for a box of nickels and pennies. (Naturally, I somehow managed to pick the one teller who is new/training out of the 4 tellers with no line >.>

Anyway the MOD over her shoulder immediately spoke up and said something like "I'm not sure if we have any boxes available... you're wanting $200 in nickels?"

I replied that "I normally buy boxes of nickels/pennies from such and such branch but happen to be in the area. I'm also pretty sure a box of nickels is $100, but if you only have a $200 box, I'd love to take it off your hands."

So the MOD then waltzed around for a while while I flirted with the new teller until finally bringing over an opened Loomis box (see pics), which contains whats appears to be a number of loose rolls which she rounded up from the tellers and she even noted that she found as many CR nickels she could find, which tickled me with childish candy-lust-like excitement. Right away I noticed one war nickel on the top of one of the non-Loomis rolls and when I got home I just noticed another war nickel on top of a roll as well!

I'm prolly more excited/ giddy than I imagine most of you CRH vets would be, but given that I'm new to CRH and this is only my 3rd box of nickels, and my last one was mostly skunk, and I have yet to get a war nickel, I'm teeming with excitement...savoring it even, as I write this post and feel the enchantment of the box of rolls before me! Lol

...I know... I'm 110% hopeless nerd... >.<

Wish me luck! I'll post my finds/ logs tonight or tomorrow :)

two war nickel enders could make for a huge box. Good luck and congrats on the 2 war nicks already.

Cool. Don't see war nick Enders very often. Hope it's loaded!

Man... Box was a total disappointment, except for the 2 war nickels on the ends. I'm not complaining, but just frustrated. Srsly, what are the odds of 2 wars showing on ends and those two being the only in the box?! Lol anyways I'll post actual logs tomorrow, but I had maybe a dozen or so of 1940-1960 nickels besides the two obvious finds.

I had a box of halves that had 2 40% Enders and a franklin Ender and those were the only silver in the box. It's unfortunate but some how it happens.

Sucks but it happens.
Once had a penny box showing like two old wheats and an ih. Headed up producing like garbage aside from those few

Wow, that is a disappointment, but you found some keepers in that box.. oddly enough, both in CWR rolls likely from the same person.
Keep on hunting! Your big nickel score will come soon enough :)

I know how that feels, I got a box that had two war nickel enders and that was it.

It's super disappointing.
