An old ring

This might be a bit tough but i'll post anyway in case someone knows about these.

I found this ring last time on the field. There are no hallmarks. Looks like gold plated silver. The plating is still visible.

I tried to be as careful as possible but some bits were barely attached and fell off.

My guess is between 16th and 18th century but i'm no expert on rings.
 

I do not really think it is really a ring, i think is just a part of a bottle cap (Part of the top), but, cool find anyway!

I thought of that too but there is green patina coming through on the broken bits . It's not aluminum but an alloy of copper and probably silver. And the detail looks handmade as it's very inconsistent. Thanks for the suggestion. Who knows, maybe that's what it is after all. :laughing7:

It's too heavy to be aluminum so i have to disagree. :tongue3:
