LOL, now that I have your attention . . .below are some pics of some type of old iron hook. It doesn't look familiar to me, so if anyone knows anything about it, or has any ideas, I'd certainly appreciate it. It looks to be hand wrought, but I'm not sure of that either. This is the first time I have been MD in this area, and I found probably 10 or 12 pieces of antique pottery shards, old medicine bottle pieces, a Victorian porcelain doll leg, and a broken bisque statue. The area had been plowed for the first (ever), and a lot of these pieces were eye-balled. The hook was very deep; at least 7 or 8 inches, and it doesn't look like it belongs in the same era as the pottery & Vic. doll leg. Thanks in advance, Breezie

Hey SS, so you think my 'hooker' is a 'swinger?' :laughing7:

Yes, I agree it could be a hanger for a swinging type sign since the back is flat. Does it look handmade to you and whutcha think about the age? Thanks, Breezie

Yea...it looks hand forged to me, and looks like it's been in the ground a while...so I guess the Vicky period would be about right. The hook end has a stop, think that's to stop a chain from slipping of in the wind

Ahhh, your killing me, I expected to see a pic of Janet Reno or something :laughing7:

Anyhow, I have to agree that it looks like a hook for holding scale's or something similar

I think we can put this one to rest, and put a green check for being a hand wrought hook of some type, possible for a scale or hanging sign. Thanks for the replies and for the laughs. :laughing7: Breezie

Thats a nice hook. I bet you would find that in an old antique iron book.
