I hit my favorite park last night and decided to cover a small section that ive seen other guys detecting. About half an hour into the hunt I get a penny signal from under an old oak tree. so I start to dig kinda under a root and at about 4-5 inches I find a thick little coin. At first I thought maybe old play money. I used a little water to clean and realized it was a 1908 IHP, I cant tell if there is a mint mark or not. About 20 feet away in between 3 trees I got an iffy signal I started to dig and the ground had alot of sand in it about 3 inches down I saw the shine of silver it was a 1907 D mint mark barber dime. The back is pitted but its in better shape then the one I found last week so im happy. Thanks for looking and HH.

Nice finds!
I've never seen an Indian that thick before. I guess that's what makes this hobby so great, huh?

That Indian Head looks like it's been hammered along the edges, like someone wanted to make a coin ring.

I would rule out any kind of error simply because they used precut planchets.
I agree with the hammering around the edge. Why they did that who knows.
Great finds in any case!

ive made a few rings out of coins and that is for sure what someone was trying to do ! great finds!
