Hey everyone. I mentioned this piece in my introduction post, but I'm sure that means only about 5-6 people read it lol. I haven't really sat down with this one long enough to really try and figure out what all is going on with it, but here is what I can tell you so far.
First, it's heavy. I'll actually go weigh it after I finish lunch. The matrix material appears to be a quartz crystal, mostly colorless and clouded, with some smaller areas of the crystal showing some nice yellow/orange. When looking over the piece as a whole, the reason it caught my attention becomes obvious.... It's covered in shiny metallic clumps. Most, if not all, is Pyrite. The colors/ hues of these clumps varies from brilliant, shiny, and "golden," to orange, brown, reddish, and even silvery. I've chipped of a few chunks and found almost all of it to be brittle and hard. Some of the silvery looking stuff doesn't seem to chip as easily, and is far less brittle.
I haven't yet bought a metal testing kit, so I can't say for sure exactly what all is there, but I can say that I'm happy with it regardless. Forgive the quality of the pics. My phone sucks...
