This site has had a few 100 year old coins on the banks and good for digging clad all day long so I've graduated to getting in the water finally. It's much harder, or slower, scooping in water I've found, but also got this ring today.
Says "mexico" and "tp5892?" In it.
Had a silvery gray film that rubbed off but seems grayer than, say, a silver dime.

Nice looking silver ring there brother! Keep on :metaldetector: ing !

Nice ring! Silver that has set in water for a long time gets a VERY deep oxidation / sulfide layer. Often it takes electrolysis or polishing powders to make them look like shiny silver again.

Water is harder in my opinion but the rewards are greater, nice job....I use a PI whites so I am a digging every tone.

Thanks guys. I'll be returning with my sand shark but was using my Cibola. It did ok but was hard to swing in the water. Plus I couldn't go too deep. Gotta get a big pouch for all the trash I'm about to dig.
