This is a 14kt small men’s wedding band at one foot in wet saltwater sand.

I could detect it with an Excalibur 1000 (not Excalibur II) on all metal / pinpoint mode.

Can you beat this depth?

There was a interesting comparison vid on youtube on a salt water beach showing the Nox & the new xterra pro on a 2 gram gold band hitting the ring at 10". I personally think the xterra pro did better. Yours appears to be 12"-13" deep. That's deep.

Thank you for the reply!

yup - all the time with my CZ21 in all metal with sensitivity cranked and loud back ground hum
i go for slightest fluctuations - large % of my finds are from hammered or "hunted out " spots

these were found all close to 2ft down in like thigh.knee deep water at one of the most excal pounded beches in CT
I hunt all metal and move real slow and go for the slightest whispers - lot of these were in rocks - highly mineralized down in 2 foot range at this spot - ive had other days here like this
there were 2 guys there with excals that day that went thru this zone - but they were using discrim and
were moving faster than me - this spot i go for the old and will take the new - most guys dont know this stuff is down there still and deep - i always shock guys there at the end of the day with a few oldies - and i still get the fresh gold drops now and then

Heard great things about the CZ21. I think that machine has been around for a long time. Still solid.

Excellent post, thank you!

Excellent post, thank you!
I have to say looking at the price point the CZ21 may be better in saltwater and on wet beach (saltwater) sand than the Equinox 900 which I was considering.

I already have an Equinox 800.

Is the CZ-21 the CZ-21-8? If you were in thigh-high water in CT then I presume it was saltwater.

holding up a half from down deep

If you hunt the way i hunt at places like i hunt - hopefully you will make finds like i do
I hunt in all metal 95%+ - If you dig it all ...hopefully you will get it all
Not everyone will hunt like I do - very few Ive met will and Ive met and hunted with many
I started with machines in the 70s and early 80s that were nondiscriminating detectors
so it is easy for me now - ive dug so many bad signals in my time that went off as crap but turned out to be good - many times gold - either small or very deep

I owned and used a whites PI PRO before my cz21 and cz20
Pi is all metal - so dug it all before 2005 in the water

some of these may help - some i hope will inspire

These are great. You still prefer the cz21 over a pulse induction machine? Goes just as deep? How does the cz21 perform on wet saltwater sand and in let’s say a foot of water? This is how I mostly would be using it. Many many years ago I used a pulse induction machine snorkeling, early Garrett.

Can't really read the scale. Years back I found a dime at 10" and was all excited . .. and it was a 1995 Roosevelt dime that flood debris had buried deep.

Thank you for the post. What machine were you using? I’m leaning strongly towards the CZ-21 vs. Equinox 900.

Fisher F-75 LTD2 with a NEL Sharpshooter coil.

Dug a 1” length of 1/4” aluminum wire from around 18” deep. Read like a silver half-dollar. Rats!
