Well, I tried a little experment today with my Garrett ACE250. Since I learned to use it, I have been using it almost always in "Coin" mode. I hit the local city park this morning, and scoured the playground areas, using the ACE250 in "Jewelry" mode. The only significant difference was in the number of pulltabs I dug. In coin mode, I uusally end up with just a few pulltabs, maybe 3 or 4 max for a 1-2 hour hunt. In Jewelery mode, in 2 hours of hunting I had over 20 pulltabs, both old and new style! So, I guess jewelry mode does do a better job of letting in those pulltab/ring signals. Lesson learned (which I already knew, but was trying my best to ignore, lol), if I want gold rings, I better hunt in jewlery mode and dig those pulltabs! Also, had to change my batteries for the first time today!! HH all!!
