Amite river??

I was considering getting a small boat and floating down the amite river metal detecting everywhere shallow areas, sandbars, everything. Is this legal? Will I run into any problems doing this?

I do not think you have a problem doing it, as long as you do everything right

I believe you should be okay as long as you stay in the river when going through private land.
