#1 - 4"x2 1/4"

Found in SW Washington dry riverbed. Translucent light-dark amber with plant/animal (?) debris inside. Anyone have a guess what this is? all help greatly appreciated!

#2 - 2 1/4"x 1 1/2"

Found same location as #1.

Many Thanks!

Bottom is flint in a bit of matrix. Top might be well jostled obsidian.

The top one is carnelian agate IMO. There is a lot of carnelian in Oregon and Washington. My cousin lives near Astoria, Oregon, and he gets some nice carnelians out of the rivers around there.

yes indeed agate...and the ones found in the area you are in are 20 to 30 million years old and erode from the foothills and wash down to the coast. what you see inside is not what you think you see but rather just formations unique to that stone.
