After checking out some spots on the Bay that were nothing short of bleak, I moved to the oceanfront with very low expectations of finding anything good and figuring that tonight was going to be an early one. Boy was a wrong on both counts!
First couple of targets were some wheat pennies and some heavier junk. I moved down the beach some and got a screaming signal that sounded like more large aluminum or maybe deep rusty iron. One scoop and it was out....when I kicked the sand pile i dumped outta my scoop I was something rectangular go sliding across the sand....I switched on my light (night time) and recognized it right away. Holy S*^%! A shoe buckle! Not something you expect to find on the beach normally and after finding one on another section a few years back I never thought I'd find one again!

It's in pretty good shape (just the frame survived) the middle part (chape?) rusted away long ago. It has a design of lines and 6 flowers/roses on it. Could that be a Tudor Rose? British? Looking for opinions on that one.
I was over the moon as you can imagine and the rest of the hunt just flew by.....I dug a ton of deep heavy targets (check out my nuts! LOL) and on my way back to start point I was getting even more wheat pennies (9 in all all but 2 were 1944) that all were in great shape compared to the ones we usually find all crusty from the ocean. Later on a dug a chain...a long heavy chain but....the plating and worn off and you could see it was copper. A little disappointment but I was still riding high about the shoe buckle. Right after the chain came the ring....at the time I just figured it was junk. It has a carbon fiber finish on the outside and I could see it was silver colored inside and had marks I couldn't yet read but I figured it was tungsten...lol. I put it in my pocket and continued on.
After clean in out this area I called it quits. When I put my stuff away and got my "beach fresh" photos I even forgot to include it until I took the photos post clean up but still didn't know what what it was until way lateer when I got the loop and looked inside...Palladium! Wow! Never found one before! 6.2 grams......rang up as a 14 on the EQX. Unbelievable, a great hunt got even better! Gonna be hard for me to top this night!

Went back again the next night and a bunch of sand moved back in so it was pretty bad...moved to a spot on the bay and managed to squeak out one little silver ring. Thanks for reading all of that if you did, if not hope ya enjoyed the pictures!
