Always take a 2nd look

This has happened before but it is always a nice surprise. You find something and don't think much about it but when you take another look at it or do a little research you find out it is more then you thought. Myself and Jonnyreb were hunting around an old farm stead .One of those abandoned places with foot tall grass and three ticks per square foot. Well due to the extremely hard hunting our finds were not to hot. I walked into a plowed field and saw a spoon sticking out of the dirt. It was about dark and the spoon was bent in half .I thought cool and got the spoon and threw it in to my bag. I have about 20 or so old junk spoons,knifes and forks that I have in a box and I thought this was another for the junk box. Well the next day I was sitting in my jeep and took a look at the spoon and I saw Mickey Mouse looking back at me . Now I thought this is perfect for a shadow box !! Today I heated up the spoon and slowly bent it back. It is still in rough shape but it is displayable .

Another item I took another look at is a whatsit that says "Hannibal Hamlin" and at the bottom of it it has PAT ALL'D . It also has a bust in the middle of it. I googled the name and low and behold it was Abraham Lincon's VP. Now that was a surprise for sure. I also have found a couple of tokens and a button . If anyone has any information on any of this stuff ,that would be fantastic!! Thanks for looking and HH.

I can't tell you much about the items but I can say, nice finds. The spoon looks silver dose it have any marking on the back? Then again dose any of the stuff have a hallmark to give us an idea of what it could be?

It just says silver plated on the back. It does have a word that I can't make out but I hope i can still clean it up.

Good point birdman..I put things outside in my stash box sometimes if they look iffy,let it rain on them for a week or two ,i can always go look and see what maybe in there, sometimes i think what the heck is this doing out here. I think if your going to dig it keep it,plus it helps clean out the spot for the next time.... Nice finds also..I like that token
