Size of a quarter. Anyone know what it was used for? Era? Found at old farm on PA. Thx

I think what you have there is a "milk token".

Probably not earlier than 1920. aluminum was one of the last metals people learned to smelt properly, some titanium and rare earths being the exceptions. I THINK I remember seeing them from the 1950's.

Russel Rulau (United States Trade Tokens 1866-1889) says that it was about 1890 when aluminum trade tokens started to appear en masse.[SUP][2][/SUP] If you find an aluminum trade token, it's probably wasn't made before 1890, and it's extremely unlikely to have been made before 1888. Another source[SUP][3][/SUP]places the earliest date at 1893.

Looks purely generic to me; could be from any date for a multiple of purposes.
