Aluminum price up in North Tx

.60/lb in January - .73/lb now. It goes up .01/lb in fifty lb increments up to 500lbs.

Didnt check the other metals but assume they all went up as well.

What do yall think is the reason? Weak dollar, demand for metals, or is it all tied into the price of oil?

Checked on prices today. .78/lb.@ 0 to 50 lbs.
.79/lb.@ 50 to 100 lbs.
.80/lb.@ 100 to 500 lbs.
.81/lb.@ 500lbs.+

I was surprised.

From what I read construction is down and cars aren't flying off the lot and China's boom is slowing.

If it's because of the weak dollar I think metals will go up more for us still.

Thanks Wayne, I am starting to think so too. Soooo does that mean aluminum cans could be a hedge against inflation?
