Aluminum nuggets

for the past few years i have been finding what i think? are aluminum nuggets on the beaches from Milwaukee all the way up to ozaukee county.
I know aluminum is made made so them nuggets must be slag of some sort and warn down from the water action. Anyone else ever find nuggets like that...... anywhere else?
Or have any info on what this is for sure??

Very lite and somewhat dull aluminum color non magnetic.

I found some earlier this summer in South Milwaukee along the Lake Michigan beach. I was told it is illegal to metal detect here so I haven't gone since but I'm really wanting to go again.
Once I can get some gear I will try maybe on some private land if I can get permission.
