The 1800s home I've been hunting always has surprises. I don't even know what half of these items are but i still think all of them are interesting. One item appears to be a metallic shotgun shell which is a first for me. And the one that really stumped me is the one that resembles half of a clothes pin with a hole in it. It is definitely made of lead though. I have found Lots of chunks of lead on this property as you can see in the pictures and that was just in a couple hours. Along with Confederate and Union bullets and Pre- Civil War buttons. I am always excited to go back there and see what i will find next. I won't stop hunting it until I've either found it all or until the homeowner gets tired of me digging up his property. Whichever comes first.

I believe the medal thingy is from Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan. Could not find a match, but could be off a key ring.

Photos 19 to 24 are old home made lead fishing weights, the hole is for the string.

That bullet hull is a 50 cal. machine gun round,is there a number under the L C?

GOD Bless

Chris

OK, from the top down...

Marine corps keyring fob, typical of junk sold to servicemembers.

either a bell without the clapper or a candle snuffer

Cant read it, but looks like an ID tag that could have been on anything. Clean it up so we can read it and might get a better ID

Broken rusty horse shoe

Broken rifle casing made in the Lake City arsenal

looks like a broken thermal sensor plug from a motor

some kind of comb? weird fork? No real clue...

bits of scrap metal and maybe a lead pistol ball

lead ID tag or homemade fishing weight

a key

not sure what the round thing on the left is,,,, need more detailed view

homemade fishing weight

A mystery dig is WAY better than a million pull tabs.
Nice hunt. I know the key you found was made in Milwaukee lol
I have a few of those. Always fun to find.
Congrats!

The pieces in the picture with the penny for scale , look like a broken buckle or suspended buckle.

Something like this 15260022964031314673510.jpg

The threaded brass piece is part of a plumbing valve. Also broken horse shoe and dog license or tag
