Guys I don't understand.

All of a sudden detecting has gone main stream and every television network is picking up a show based on it.
Now some of these show are alright in portraying what we do, but a lot of what they showed is misleading to the viewers who have never swung a coil.
I'm afraid these shows will give people the misconception that you can go out and in 5 mins find a cannon ball or two piece buckle.
We do not need false images or ideas in this great hobby.

Sorry guys just had to say something.

I think, hope, it will quiet down soon. I don't think swarms of newbies looking to get rich are going to be good for our hobby.

Once your average green horn realizes that treasure hunting requires hard work to be successful, the fad will pass.

You cant find an M.D. in a pawn shop right now. I have tried. I just got back into relic hunting and I thought I might find a used u max tesoro of some sort but all the pawn shops in the chattanooga area are sold out of used detectors. I have fond memories of hunting yankee camps in scotsboro and bridgeport 25 years ago. These guys are so silly on these shows it makes you want to be sick at your stomach.
