I found several of these last year and again I found a couple more this year; DSCN9175.webp
they were left with good thoughts as to what they might be, but never a photo or backed up educated answer. Then I was searching for possibilities the other night then I came across this Photo: curry.webp I can not for the life of me, figure out how this could be part of a curry comb.

I found one like this back home in Wisconsin 663_CurryComb_003.webp (I can't find my photo so I found this non copyrighted one online). I can understand how this one worked! LOL

Anyhow any feedback would help! Thanks!

The top 2 pictures are half right...it's certainly a root...

I agree withe Osage...some sort of a buckle...

Have several combs similar to the 3rd pic which predates the more common rubber type used today.

Your welccome Kuger, I really do appreciate it, when any of you take the time to share with me, it saves me HOURS that I would spend trying to google something that I may or may not EVER find! All those hours saved are hours I could be metal detecting!!!!

Any chance you could share the link of where you found that photo, when I look at the band hooks that I have found, it just looks like only a thin material could fit inside it. Leather straps look to be to thick to fit inside. Granted mine are all rusted out and don't function so it is possible they do open wider than I think. I have been searching plow boy back band hooks for the past two hours and I found one other site that mentions them in a catalog, but I can't find a photo of one in use. If you don't have any other info to share, you are still the best!
