All my fellow Historians, I need your help to ID

Please visit "What is it" and look at my post "Another Whatsit." Found it amongst buttons,a tin type, minies and musket balls Sunday in a riflepit. Looks like some sort of tip, maybe to a bayonet scabbard. Please take a look and see if you agree.
