Just a tad smaller than a penny.
Beeps on detector but feels like plastic?
Not magnetic.
Note two holes on each side of red bead towards top.
(you can see holes better on reverse)
Reverse show where item may have been broke
on top, perhaps a loop for whatever held it.
Just seem strange, One blue-green bead, three
red-pink; did you notice 3 very small white hearts?
(under red beads.)
Seems like a lot of work on this item.
Was it a broken loop to hold it? What are the
holes for?

Sherm...Looks like you found the center drop in a 30's to 40's necklace. Probably was held in place by double strands of beads. Looking for a example but no luck. Costume jewelry.

could also be a pin/brooch with the metal pin inside (broken) and being plastic it would ring/ding because of the pin I agree with Dg39 on the date!

My guess is its made of alluminum(sp)alluminum is not magnetic and a real thin alluminum alloy would feel like plastic....so my guess:alluminum
