Hi all,

I counted up my yearly coin total yesterday, and found out I only needed 29 more coins to achieve my goal of 7,000 for the year :icon_king:

About 9 months ago, I found a park about 8 miles away that contained nothing but a large, flat soccer field and a concession stand. In several trips there, I came home with 133 quarters, close to 100 dimes, a bunch of pennies and a silver ring. I thought if there would be any place to find 29 more coins, that was the place to go.

When I arrived, it was cloudy and windy, with temps in the low 40's. Eventually the sun peeked through the clouds and the skies cleared. The ground was perfect due to some rain we had last night. The conditions for hunting couldn't have been better than today, especially for late November.

In my 90-minute hunt, I came home with 77 coins (33 pennies, 1 nickel, 21 dimes and 22 quarters), for a total of $7.98, bringing my coin total to 7,048. Most of the change wasn't lost recently and I was surprised how many coin targets (especially quarters) I had missed earlier in the year.

The icing on the cake came within the first 15 minutes..I hit a solid nickel signal and dug my first 14K white gold ring  This one is big and heavy too, 7/8" across! It was quite a thrill to flip that clump of dirt over and see this big beauty stuck in the plug.

The only other 14K I've found so far was back on March 20, which was yellow gold. My Prizm read this one as a nickel, but I remember the other 14K was read as a nickel also. I tried in vain to read the 14K inside this one..I couldn't read it without a magnifyer, so I had to wait until I got home. I knew I had a good chance it was gold, since my detector reads a silver ring as a quarter or a half. Another thing I noticed was the inner part of the band was shiney like a mirror.

I also found a token, a small key and a religious medal.

As you can probably guess I had a great time and it was one of the most peaceful and enjoyable hunts I've had in a long time.

Hope you all find a little treasure this week and Happy Thanksgiving to all.
