I'm sure this question has been asked a million times, but i'll be darned if i can't figure out the search words to find the answer.
where should I go? The southeast US is a pretty big place after all.
I figure my options are
1. join the GPAA and head out to the farm claim. could be good. but it's gonna run me 90 bucks to start membership
2. head to a pay to play site. good for maybe a day or 2 but if i wanna hit the woods for a week it's gonna be rather costly i assume.
3. head out of state. (i get pretty good gas mileage). not sure of the rules in SC, NC, Tenn. or Ala.
4. start digging up my entire front yard (i'm not on the gold line or near a creek so this is probably a terrible option.)
I wanna just toss down a sluice and a tent and enjoy life for a bit. so any good info provided will be great. also you should know i'm real weird about meeting new people. like i get all jittery so i have a hard time with social situations and meeting people to ask permission to hit their land.
