air test sov gt

Hello All:
have read manual and would like for someone to tell me the proper way to do an air test. as for as atest garden I now
live in a fema trailor park and a test site is out of the question. I am trying to learn the tones for different objects.

air testing the Sovereign will get you tones, but not depth.

the sovereign Dosn't work right if there is air between the coil & the Ground, or Object.

The best way to learn tones is by digging everything over & over.

Put the coil flat on the ground and wave your targets over the top of the coil. That way the detector is at least reading the ground conditions, whilst this might not be as accurate as when it is actually in the ground at least it will give you some reasonable indication.
