Any info on the pin would be great! Thanks ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1509746616.845577.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1509746650.723698.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1509746663.297674.webp

Generic patriotic pin; not a USAF or any other military issued pin--IMO.
What, if any, word is written below the strips?
Don.......

I would agree that is a patriotic pin. Any way to date it?
Looks like just the feather design below the stripes.

Might get a shot of the back. Is the pin a clip (has 2 springy thingy's ) or a screw on. Screw on's are mostly pre WW2 I think. Cool find. Good luck.

WWII they had people that watched for and identified aircraft. At least that was the case on the California coast. My father had a pin for over 1000 hours of watching for enemy aircraft. Not as bad as it sounds though, he ran a tug boat, and got credit for watching while he was at work. I will try and find the pin tomorrow, in the mean time you might research "coast watch, WWII."

Great find, either way. I would say WW2 also, just because its patriotic and aircraft related. Aviation did not play as great of a role in World War I as it did in World War II.

Just did a little research myself. I don't think you have a set of spotter wings. I still have to find the one my father had, which I think is like the one pictured below. We did have the aircraft charts and the playing cards. I was 8 years old when the war ended, so those things got played with and then thrown away, and I sure wish I had that stuff now. Anyhow, I'll look for the wings pin and if it resembles yours I'll post again. Otherwise, I think I'm steering off onto the wrong track.
