Air Force Button???

It's about the size of a U.S. dime, maybe a tad smaller. Looks air force to me. Possibly 1950's? Any help would be great. The back has some design on the edges.

I am thinking U.S. Airmail pilot's uniform button. But, I thought once before and it got me into a lot of trouble!

I don't think it's Air Force, the closest emblem I have seen like that was on the USAAF lapel pins from WW2, but it's not a match. From the size it might be off of a civilian pilot hat, maybe a chinstrap button. Similar to this one, but not military.....

Waterbury Buttons has one similar .. That design is a spin-off of the US Army Air Corp insignia shown in the bottom photo.

It does at first glance look similar, but I think yours isn't military related.

I agree non military 1930-1950 approx because :

1- Its similar to the AAF collar disc but if you notice the prop is opposite. (horizontal instead of perpendicular) http://www.ww2wings.com/wings/usaaf/usaafmiscellaneous.shtml

2- Creskols Waterbury link lists the design as Airlines Career Uniform.

3- Its a self shank.
