The buttons really cool, I think thats probaly the foot off some kind of a support leg-stand like on a trailor or somthing

When I first went into the service in the early 60s we had air cadets from the AF Academy that trained on AF bases. I somehow remember that the button with the propeller was part of their uniforms? Not sure enough to say that's what it is though. Monty

Dont know about the button, but that insignia is a air cadet in training insignia used on patches

The "button" is a collar disk from the Army Air Corps. In the 1940's is was the Air Corps, today is the Army Aviation Branch. Your find has the thicker 1940's style wings that became the USAF wings. This design is still used today by the U.S. Army and the wings are thinner and wider. More on the history at:
