Age this please

Please give me a age of this round ball? I found it near a civil war site but not sure if it was used then?? Penny for reference...

Assuming it's lead they used round balls in the CW as well as mini's. If not lead then a clay marble.
 

It’s lead and white as snow so I assume it’s old. And the location was close to a union camp from the civil war. I am gonna hit it again maybe end of the week.
 

Invest in a cheep caliper. Exact measurement will tell exactly what it is.

That's about the right size for a Charleville musket. In service 1717 - 1840(ish). The musket was a .69 caliber smoothbore but fired a slightly undersized (.63 - .65) patched ball to help reduce powder fouling.

So, likely not Civil War but still a cool find. Where are you located?
 

From southern West Virginia. I found it near some small civil war battles sites here in WV. That why I thought it was from the civil war.
