The token looks like an Orco Type 2, c. 1930-38.

Dodrill's book on coal company stores indicates that a Monarch Smokeless Coal Co. store, where such a token would have been used, was in operation at Mohegan, WV from 1927 to 1932.

So, we can probably narrow the date range to 1930-32.

Edkins' book on WV coal tokens rates this one R9— 5-9 examples previously reported. Based on suggested values in the latest edition, it should be worth $35 or more. ("Prices are for single pieces in non-mutilated condition, on which the obverse and reverse lettering is clearly visible.")

Note: the "MS" cutout on the token is not damage, but as made.
