How old is this pocket knife? And if possible (doubt it is) what company made it?

My grandfather had a pocket knife with similar patterns, the sides of the holder looked sort of yellow-brown in color, with the raised parts yellow and the small indentations being brown. I think it was intended to look like wood. I may even still have that knife somewhere, not sure. Wild guess, but I am thinking my grandfather's knife was probably from the 1960s or 1970s.

The bolster is hard to see, but it looks like maybe a private label Schrade 2203 pattern jack knife circa 1917 or there abouts.

I found a WW1 button near it. There used to be a WW1 training camp where I live and have found a couple of WW1 items. That means the knife could've been a soldiers :)

soak that puppie in some ATF for a month or so...perhaps the tang stamp will be readable...and the bone color will show up...that old bone is fantastic...

could be ulster as they became Schrade....here are the guys who probably made that knife...http://www.collectors-of-schrades-r.us/articles/ulstersm.pdf

the pinched bolster makes me believe it is an early ulster.
