the only thing i ever do is set larger pieces in table tops when i make furniture and illuminate them from underneath. They are too pretty when rough for me to want to polish or cut.

That's right up my alley!! I'm sure you've made some real beautiful pieces.
I Hope you find a nice big piece of that material to set in a table!! That would look insane.

the beaches....any beach....along the Washington and Oregon coast.
That's cool, the only agates I have gotten off the Oregon coast were very small, the biggest about the size of a quarter!:icon_thumleft:

Those are beautiful samples! Thought you guys would be interested to know that bamboo fly rod makers use a guide with an Agate ring. It was the first guide closest to the reel and is called the stripper guide.

Still in use today..

Wow, cool, I am an avid fly fisherman and you just taught me something I never knew, I will have to look for that the next time I am examining a bamboo rod......

I refinish bamboo fly rods and always try to re-use the Agate stripper guide. You are in a beautiful state to trout fish. I fished the Bighorn River twice and it is incredible, as are all the streams around Yellowstone...
