Nice.

Early American artifacts are skyrocketing in value. Lucky for you to live near the 'hunting grounds'. Thanks for posting.

Ver nice Grooved Hammer larson.

Congrats and thanks for the picture. I look forward to seeing the cleaned up picture.

Larson you better not sell that stuff. That's your retirement. That is a perfect hammer it looks like a potato. I am guessing that one like that is very rare??

That's freaking incredible.

Agate's about the toughest material going. A good choice for a tool like that. And look at how carefully it's shaped and smoothed ! Must have taken him days.

Hammer though ??

Or skull cracker ?

yes thanks Uniface, It could have been made by a woman as a present for her man, who knows, right?

here is a shot of it held up to the light
maybe you can see that it is opaque
I need to scrub it with a tooth brush (maybe I can get a better quality shot)

I am pretty sure it is agate
I find quite a few pieces made from agate as well as agate cobbles and cores and also raw unbroken agate
in my fields

Nice skull thumper, another terrific find, thanks for sharing. Can ya get it cleaned up so we can all see the transparent nature of the agate?? Cool find....

thanks, I will try to clean it with tooth brush
then I will post it soon
once again, thanks
